Dr. Nancy Perrier is Professor of Surgery and Chief, Section of Surgical Endocrinology; Associate Director, Multidisciplinary Endocrine Center, and Fellowship Program Director of Surgical Endocrinology in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She received the Walter and Ruth Sterling Distinguished Endowed Professorship in Surgery.

Dr. Perrier is a native of Louisiana, a full alumni federation scholar graduate of Louisiana State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. During her undergraduate work she also completed studies abroad at the University of East Anglia in England. She returned to receive her medical degree from LSU in New Orleans during which time she was an active leader with the American Medical Association.

Dr. Perrier completed her general surgical residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she served as chief resident, Instructor in Surgery, and received the most honorable Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award. She then completed postgraduate training in both Endocrine Surgical Oncology Fellowship Clinical Training at the University of California at San Francisco and as a National Institute of Health T32 fellow in Outcomes Based Research and Epidemiology.

Dr. Perrier’s career interest in endocrine tumor pathology and the associated genetic syndromes was secured. Her interest into safe implementation of new technology, quality outcomes of care and prediction and prevention of endocrine tumor syndromes has been career worthy.
