Nancy D'Hondt, BS, CDCES, FADCES, is a clinical pharmacist with over 20 years of experience in diabetes care and education. Her background includes inpatient glycemic policy development and implementation, and outpatient wellness services. These experiences have allowed her to better understand the needs of the populations she serves and address the gaps in care. Nancy currently works for Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI, and for a local independent pharmacy, where she continues to advocate for improved access and care for all persons at risk for or affected by diabetes.
She is recognized for her expertise in leadership, quality improvement, and creating a vision for the future. Nancy has a proven track record of driving positive change and improving patient outcomes. Her involvement in the diabetes landscape demonstrates her passion for the specialty. She has served in local and/or national roles for the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Breakthrough T1D, The Diabetes Leadership Council, and the American Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, where she served as President in 2017. She earned her Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist® (CDCES) credential in May 2002 and has been a strong advocate for the certification ever since.
