Namee Kim, MD, is a cardiologist with subspecialty training in nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and vascular medicine. She also is a certified clinical lipidologist and hypertension specialist. Her clinical interests include the role of gender differences in cardiovascular disease and preventive cardiology. She’s a member of the Scripps Women’s Heart Center care team.

Dr. Kim received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Johns Hopkins University and went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Michigan. She completed her internal medicine residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital, where she also served as chief resident. She completed her fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at Scripps Clinic in addition to serving as chief fellow.

Dr. Kim’s clinical practice focuses on preventive cardiology, including the treatment of resistant hypertension, dyslipidemia, and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Kim also has a special interest in cardiovascular diseases that present more commonly in women, such as microvascular coronary disease, postural tachycardia syndrome, and fibromuscular dysplasia.
