Naji Mohammed Alamuddin MD

Dr. Naji Alamuddin, MD, MTR, is an assistant professor of medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and his master's in Translational Research from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed an internal medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, and a fellowship in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Alamuddin is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Alamuddin’s research focuses on the treatment of obesity, involving behavioral, pharmacological, and surgical approaches. He is primarily interested in understanding metabolic changes associated with weight loss and bariatric surgery.
