Nadine Messerli-burgy PhD

Nadine Messerli-Bürgy completed her studies in psychology and her doctorate at the University of Bern and received her venia docendi from the University of Fribourg. Before joining the Faculty of SSP, she was a scholarship professor of clinical child psychology and co-director of the Psychotherapy Unit at the University of Fribourg. She has also worked in several universities abroad (United Kingdom, Luxembourg). Nadine Messerli-Bürgy is a clinical psychologist and completed her postgraduate training in psychotherapy and health psychology.

Nadine Messerli-Bürgy's research program focuses on the biological and psychological mechanisms that influence the development and maintenance of psychological problems in children and adolescents. It uses a multi-method approach and aims to advance research on the underlying mechanisms and effects of psychotherapy. His work aims to improve the effectiveness of treatments for children and adolescents through new approaches.

The research and teaching activities of Prof. Messerli-Bürgy add to the expertise and training offered by the Institute of Psychology. She envisages interdisciplinary collaborations within UNIL and outside, in order to improve the understanding and treatment of the mental health of children and adolescents.
