Nadia I. Awad obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers College in 2007, and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University in 2011. After graduation, she completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. During her residency, she developed a strong interest in emergency medicine and she went on to complete her PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at Rutgers University and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident of the pharmacy residency program. She joined the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the School of Pharmacy as a Clilnical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine in July 2013, and she is currently the Emergency Medicine Pharmacist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, New Jersey.

She is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT). She also serves on the ASHP Section Advisory Group on Emergency Care as well as the Media Committee of the ACCP Emergency Medicine Practice and Research Network.
