Nader, Fotouhi, Ph.D. at Roche in Nutley, NJ, is Vice President, Global Head of Discovery Technologies, and Site Leader for Nutley Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development. As head of global Discovery Technologies, Fotouhi is accountable for setting the team’s global strategy and ensuring efficient and state-of-the-art generation of proteins, high throughput screening, biostructure, and compound handling in support of the Discovery and Translational Areas, Chemistry and Safety. In addition, the team provides state of the art miniaturization and automation support, Analytical Chemistry and transgenic animals, as well as Stem Cell expertise as research tools. As pRED site leader, he handles all administrative issues for the research and early development functions. Fotouhi is also a member of the Nutley Site Governance Committee.
Fotouhi joined Roche in 1990 and since then, has held leadership roles on two drug discovery projects in the areas of oncology and inflammation. He has also been a member of an international life cycle management team responsible for the development of a cell-cycle inhibitor for the treatment of solid tumors. Fotouhi has been a member of the Nutley Senior Research Management Team and has chaired the Nutley Research Center Management Team. For the past ten years, he has also been a member of the global chemistry team contributing to the development of global chemistry strategies.
