Dr Das is a General Adult and Forensic Psychiatrist (medical doctor) with over 25 years of experience as a psychiatrist. He has a sensitive, emphatic and a patient-centred approach to treatment, taking into consideration the individual needs and circumstances of a client. He provides a comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment of patients for a range of psychiatric disorders or mental health issues. Dr Das has trained as a specialist psychiatrist in Australia and the United Kingdom.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom (FRCPsych), and a Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry (MD, Psychiatry) with distinction. He trained in the reputed Maudsley Hospital and Institute of Psychiatry in London. In 2002, he was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry by the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board in the United Kingdom. He is also an accredited member of the Forensic Faculty of the Australian College. Dr Das has 14 years of experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in West London Mental Health Trust, and was a Training Programme Director at the Oxford School of Psychiatry, United Kingdom. He was also a Specialist Professional Advisor to the Care Quality Commission, United Kingdom. He was awarded 6 Clinical Excellence Awards as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the National Health Service, England.
He moved to Australia from the United Kingdom in 2016 and works as a Consultant Psychiatrist in NT Health. Dr Das has extensive experience in research and is recognised for his work in understanding the brain origins of mental disorders and pharmacological (medication) treatments. He has published papers in many reputed international journals. He lectures in national and international conferences of psychiatric experts.
