Omar Ali, BSc(Hons) Pharm, DipClinPharm, MRPharmS, ACPP, is a UK-based healthcare expert and leader in pharmaceutical pricing, access, and innovative contracting. He currently serves as Head of Payers at Verpora, where he leads a global network of more than 150 payer professionals across 30+ markets, focusing on pricing, reimbursement, market access, and value-based strategies in managed care and life sciences.

A former adviser to the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and experienced government pharmacy payer, Omar has over 15 years of experience in formulary and therapeutic decision-making across primary and secondary care, and has held roles on commissioning and prescribing clinical networks. He has been a visiting lecturer at the UCLH Pharmacy Programme, and both lecturer and examiner on independent prescribing at the University of Surrey, and is a visiting lecturer on Value-Based Pricing and Innovative Contracting at the University of Portsmouth.

Omar has contributed to more than 30 publications, served as an editorial content adviser for clinical guidelines, and as associate editor of the Canadian Journal of Population Therapeutics & Clinical Pharmacology. He has also advised foreign investors on value-based assessments and presented globally on health economics and contracting models, including keynotes at AMCP, Model N, and Italian Senate healthcare forums. Currently pursuing a PhD on value-based and innovative contracting of new medicines, his research includes building a live repository of global innovative contracts. Outside of work, he is a passionate drummer and a single father to three daughters.
