Prof. Gomori earned his BS in Mathematics from MIT in 1972, and his MD from Harvard University in 1976. He continued his training with a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital of the Harvard Medical School from 1977-1980, and later completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1984-1985.

Prof. Gomori joined the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Hadassah as Head of Neuroradiology in 1981 and was named Head of Magnetic Resonance in 1987. He is a Professor of Radiology at the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine and holds a joint appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Prof. Gomori has published and lectured widely in the fields of neuroradiology and MRI, and serves as a reviewer of top international journals in these fields. His research interests include imaging and interventional treatment of acute stroke, functional MRI, hyperpolarized MRI-molecular imaging in neuroradiology and neuro-oncology, viral therapy of glioblastomas, blood brain barrier disruption and intra arterial therapy of brain tumors, clinical and basic algorithms for medical image processing, and clinical and device development in interventional neuroradiology.
