Prof. Monika Rudzinska-Bar is a doctor. specialist in neurology and medical rehabilitation. In the years 2014-2019, she was the head of the Department and Clinic of Neurology at the Medical Faculty of the Medical University of Silesia, and since 2019 she has been the head of the Department and Clinic of Neurology at the Krakow Academy of Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski. Her scientific interests focus on neurodegenerative diseases causing movement disorders, including parkinsonism, dystonia, tremor, ataxia, gait disturbances and dementia, and botulinum toxin treatment.

Monika Rudzinska-Bar is the author and co-author of over 150 publications in journals indexed in Pub-Med., 7 monographs, and 19 chapters in books (Hirsch index = 21 IF over 200). She was awarded the Minister of Health Award twice for her book publications: in 2013 for the multimedia “Atlas of movement disorders and Diseases” and in 2017 for the two-volume textbook “Botulinum Toxin in clinical practice”.

Since 2018, she has been the president of the Polish Society of Parkinson's Disease and Other Movement Disorders and the president of the Section of Extrapyramidal Diseases of the Polish Neurological Society. She is an elected member of the American Association of Neurology and an active member of many international scientific societies (e.g. European Huntington Disease Network, Movement Disorders Society, Dystonia Genetic Consortium).
