Monika Fischer MD, MS

Dr. Monika Fischer is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and small bowel diseases. Her research interests include biomarkers of disease activity and severity in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, fecal microbiota transplantation, Clostridium difficile infections, small bowel endoscopy, and clinical trials in IBD.

Dr. Fischer earned her medical degree in 1992 at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. She completed an Internal Medicine residency and a Gastroenterology/ Inflammatory Bowel Disease fellowship at the IU School of Medicine. She served as Chief Fellow in the Division of Gastroenterology in the IU Department of Medicine.
