Dr. Monika Budnik is an Assistant professor at the 1st Department and Clinic of Cardiology of the Medical University of Warsaw, cardiologist. She has a certificate from the Association of Cardiovascular Imaging of the European Society of Cardiology confirming her ability to perform echocardiographic examinations and accreditation of the Association of Echocardiography of the Polish Society of Cardiology.

She defended the degree of Doctor of medical sciences with honors for the thesis entitled: "Factors Influencing the Diagnosis, clinical course and Long-term Prognosis in Patients with Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy". She received the degree of doctor habilitated in medical sciences for a series of works entitled "Takotsubo syndrome - diagnostic and prognostic variations". She is the author and co-author of several dozen scientific articles, mainly on takotsubo syndrome and echocardiography. She presented her works at the most important world congresses of cardiology and echocardiography.

Her clinical interests are primarily echocardiographic assessment in patients with acquired heart defects and intraoperative monitoring during cardiac surgery.
