Monica B. Pagano MD

Dr. Pagano is the associate medical director of the Transfusion Support Laboratory at UW Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center, and a UW assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Pagano oversees transfusion practices and provides consultation for patients with special transfusion needs.
Dr. Pagano earned her medical degree at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine, Argentina. She completed her residency and chief residency in clinical pathology at University of Washington, and her fellowship in transfusion medicine at Johns Hopkins. She is actively engaged in patient care, clinical research and education. Her research interests include adverse events associated to transfusion and novel indications for therapeutic apheresis, which led to several peer reviewed publications.
