Mona Arekat

Dr. Mona Arekat completed her medical school studies with distinction in Bahrain at the Arabian Gulf University. After that she did her postgraduate training in internal medicine in the United States at Upstate Medical University in New York. She later completed her fellowship in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism at Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate in Syracuse, New York. She then returned to Bahrain and was the pioneer endocrinologist who established the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate in Bahrain (which is now our current Gulf Diabetes Specialist Center). She has extensive experience in diabetes management in adults (including insulin pumps) as well as endocrine disorders like diseases of thyroid and pituitary, calcium disorders and other hormonal problems.
