Mohd Yazid Bajuri MD, MS

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Yazid Bin Bajuri, a Senior Consultant and Orthopedics Surgeon as well as Head of Advanced Trauma, Foot and Ankle Surgery Unit, and Diabetic Foot Services at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department of PPUKM. With an entrenched passion in foot and ankle surgeries, he underwent two separate sub-skills, namely at Kantonspital Liestal, Switzerland under the supervision of Professor Beat Hintermann, who is globally-renowned in the field of ‘Foot and Ankle’ in 2012, and subsequently at Hospital Royal Derby, the United Kingdom under the skillful guidance of Professor Rohan Rajan (2013). He has been an Orthopedic Surgeon since 2009 and has undergone extensive training in orthopedic surgeries at Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM).

He currently holds the esteemed position of garnering the highest percentage of cases in foot and ankle treatments both locally and in South-East Asia. Furthermore, he also collaborated with Wakaf Selangor Muamalat to establish an award that provides specialized care for diabetic foot problems. Aside from that, he published many articles on his specialty and was invited to conferences both locally and internationally to share his knowledge and expertise. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Yazid Bajuri’s passion for coming up with product innovation is irrefutable as he has won numerous competitions, both locally as well as internationally. His latest innovation entitled Virtual Reality in Total Ankle Replacement Surgery won 2 Gold Awards in nova si 2020 and Malaysian Technology Expo 2020. Another innovation for diabetic shoes and prosthetic limb made especially for the B40 group, MyB Prosthetic Limb which is funded by the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) is now commercialized and garnered attention from media as it is one of the innovations that benefit the community. This innovation has also won Gold Award at Malaysian Technology Expo 2020 for its novelty.
