Mohd Idzwan Zakaria MB Bch, BAO, MEmMed

Professor Dr. Mohd Idzwan Zakaria currently serving as one of the leading members of the special interest group for Geriatric Emergency Medicine (GEM) under the College of Emergency Physicians Academy of Medicine Malaysia, he holds the role of a senior emergency medicine consultant at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). Additionally, he acts as a clinical lecturer at the University of Malaya. In the past, he held the position of Head of the Department of Quality at UMMC until July 2021.

Dr. Mohd Idzwan bin Zakaria's current focus lies on a range of research areas. These encompass the enhancement of the trauma system, the reduction of morbidity within the older population, the assurance of patient safety, and the mitigation of the psychological impacts stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic on the personnel working within the emergency department.
