Dr. Mohammod Jobayer Chisti is a leading research pediatrician and an expert in infectious diseases such as pneumonia and tuberculosis. He is currently embedded within the Department of Nutrition and Clinical Services Division (NCSD) at the cider,b, a world-renowned research institution in Global Health. In 2010, Dr. Chisti completed his Master in Medicine in pediatrics at the Royal Children`s Hospital, University of Melbourne.

He then specialized in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and, by 2014, he completed his Ph.D. He has since returned to Dhaka and works as the Clinical Lead in the ICU and as a consultant for the Acute Respiratory Infection ward. He heads the Clinical Research Hospitals, under NCSD. Dr. Chisti focuses on pediatric respiratory and critical care medicines and coordinates large-scale studies across Bangladeshi hospitals.

He currently leads several clinical trials such as “Bubble continuous positive airway pressure for children with severe pneumonia and hypoxemia in Bangladesh” and “Etiology of pneumonia in severely malnourished children and their post-discharge follow-up”. He has also developed low-cost life-saving innovations that were scaled for use in resource-limited settings. His research is multifaceted and looks at childhood pneumonia, tuberculosis, bronchiolitis, asthma, sepsis, malnutrition, enteric encephalopathy, and diarrheal complications.
