Dr. Shamsah is a consultant in Anesthesia, Critical care medicine and Pain management at AL-Adan Hospital. He obtained his Bachelor degree (MBBS) from Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1993. Following that, he moved to Canada where he obtained the FRCPC in Anesthesia from the University of Western Ontario in 2000. He completed the Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Fellowship and Perioperative Echocardiography Fellowship from University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada in 2002.
He also obtained the American National Board of Echocardiography (Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography) in 2001 where he then was registered and certified as Echocardiographer at the province of Manitoba. He was granted the Canadian Critical Care Fellowship in University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada in 2002. He established the cardiac Anaesthesia unit in Aldaboos Cardiac Centre / Adan Hospital and introduced the perioperative echocardiography service.
Dr. Shamsah also completed the Interventional pain management fellowship at McGill University for both malignant and nonmalignant pain in 2007. He established the acute and chronic pain service in Adan Hospital which includes multiple interventional procedures.
