Mohammed Shamim Absar MBBS, MS, FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Gen Surgery)

Mr Absar is an established consultant in the North West and is the Clinical Director of Breast services based out of Penine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. He is also the clinical director of the Manchester breast cancer pathway board. Mr M S Absar qualified in medicine in Calcutta in 1993. He subsequently moved to the UK, gaining surgical fellowship from the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2001. He was appointed as a consultant at the North Manchester General Hospital, where he has introduced a sentinel lymph node biopsy programme for axillary staging in early breast cancers and recently lipofilling for correction of breast deformity, following treatment of breast cancer.

His practice focuses on benign breast conditions and treatment of breast cancer, especially oncoplastic breast conservation and breast reconstruction. He also specialises in cosmetic and corrective breast surgery for asymmetry and reduction for large breasts. Mr Absar is an active speaker at national and international conferences and has had his work published in several journals.
