Mohammed Alhatou MD

Dr. Mohammed Alhatou has a special interest in headache, neuro-immunology and neuromuscular diseases. He chaired the Department of Neurology at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties from 2002 to 2015 and recently joined Hamad Medical Corporation where he is a Senior Consultant, Director of the Neuromuscular Division at HMC, and Head of Neurology at Alkhor Hospital.

Dr. Alhatou is American Board-Certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Electromyography, Neuromuscular Disorders, Neuroimaging and Sleep Medicine. He completed his Residency in Neurology at the University of Virginia and his Fellowship in Neuromuscular Disease and Electromyography at Emory University.

He is a primary investigator in multiple drug studies in neuropathy, dementia, stroke, and epilepsy. He is the Chair of the Qatar Board of Neurology and Qatar representative to the Arab Board of Neurology.
