Mohammad Afzal PhD

Dr. Mohammad Atif Faiz Afzal is a Principal Scientist at Schrödinger, Inc., Portland, Oregon, United States of America. His interests lie in the design of efficient algorithms for scientific data modeling and the automation of techniques used in computational sciences. By combining molecular modeling with machine learning tools, they accelerate the discovery process of novel materials, processes, and compounds. I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at University at Buffalo. My dissertation work includes the design of organic polymers with superior optical properties. As part of this work, he developed tools and techniques that are part of the group’s integrated in-silico discovery framework.
