Dr. Mohamed Samy Adel Elhammady, MD, is a Staff Physician at the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Elhammady was an Associate Professor at the University of Miami, where he was also the Director of Minimally Invasive Cranial Neurosurgery and the co-director of neuroendovascular surgery, as well as skull base/cerebrovascular surgery.
Dr. Elhammady received his medical degree from the University of Mansoura, Egypt. He then completed his Neurosurgical residency at the University of Miami, Florida, USA. Dr. Elhammady completed three fellowships including both Neuroendovascular Surgery and Open Cerebrovascular/Skull Base Surgery at the University of Miami, as well as Minimally Invasive/Endoscopic Surgery for Brain and Spine Tumors at the Center for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, Sydney, Australia.
He is the co-founder of the University of Miami Cerebrovascular Initiation (UMCVI), which is involved with researching novel methods of treatment of vascular and brain disorders of the brain. He is an accomplished author and presenter and his bibliography includes more than eighty peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters, and reviews. Dr. Elhammady specializes in the treatment of all aspects of neurovascular disease and complex brain tumors, as well as degenerative spine disease. He is also American board-certified in Neurosurgery.
