Prof. Mohamed Al-Moamary is a consultant in Pulmonary Medicine at the Department of Medicine at the King Abdulaziz Medical City-Central Region (KAMC-CR), Ministry of National Guard-Health Affairs (MNGHA). He completed a four-year term as the Executive Director, KAMC-CR (2015-2019). During this tenure, He led the re-opening of KAMC-CR after the closure in 2015 due to MERS-CoV, oversaw the launching of new paperless electronic records, and led accreditation of the hospital twice for JCI international and for the first time with CBAHI. During this tenure, KAMC-CR capacity increased by 40% and introduced new concepts such as the winter resilience plan during high seasons. He is also the founder of the first national pulmonary rehabilitation program in 2000. He was awarded a Master of Business Administration in Leadership and sustainability from the University of Cumbria, the UK in 2014. His thesis was titled “Authenticity of academic leadership and career development in health sciences education”.

In the academic field, Prof. Al-Moamary is the Vice President, of Development and Quality Management at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) since July 2013. He led the establishment of implementation of the internal quality assurance system (IQAS), achievement of the National institutional accreditation with the National Center of Evaluation and Academic Accreditation (NCAA), creation of University internal Bylaws, development of the strategic plan, and leading the transformation project of the University as per the newly released National Universities system. With the establishment of the College of Medicine at KSAU-HS in 2004, he was a member of the commissioning committee. He was then appointed as the founding Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs (2006-2011) where he led the implementation of the curriculum at the KAMC-R. He also served as the Assistant Vice President for Educational Affairs (2010-2013). He is the author of a unique Framework for Medical Interns’ Competencies. He led the innovative efforts to integrate patient Safety into the College of Medicine curriculum. He is a member of the NCAA Accreditation Review Committee since 2017.
