Dr. Mitra Nejad, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is Board Certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and now specializes in advanced surgical procedures for cataracts and laser vision correction.
She utilizes the full spectrum of the latest technology available for the treatment of cataracts including femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, intraoperative aberrometry, advanced technology lenses (toric, multifocal, and extended-depth-of-field), as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) at the time of cataract surgery.
Dr. Nejad graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S in Physiological Sciences from UCLA and earned her MD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed her internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, then ophthalmology training at UCLA Stein Eye Institute, where she remained on staff after completion of her residency. During her first year of practice, she did additional post-graduate training in the field of refractive surgery, gaining proficiency in both LASIK and PRK procedures as well as the management of rare, complicated disorders.
