Mithun is a Public Health Specialist for about 7 years, she worked to boost her knowledge & capacity in a diversified field of research as well as programme in both urban and rural settings. Currently, she has expertise in planning, developing and management of programmes as well as capacity building, monitoring & evaluation with a special focus in early childhood nutrition through ensuring & promoting breastfeeding support for the working women in the RMG sector. She has led the scale up implementation of a large volume programme to protect maternity rights and support breastfeeding which is now being implemented at 82 RMG factories. She also worked in a community and govt. health facility-based approach to promote breastfeeding focusing IYCF.
She also has experience working in the Mayer Hashi-II project of USAID at EngenderHealth Bangladesh to improve access, quality, and use of long-acting and permanent methods (LAPM) of contraception and selective maternal health services to prevent post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) through clinical and community approaches where she has closely worked with DGFP & DGHS.
She has an enormous interest in Child development, health & nutrition and also working with different teams in this arena of interest. She is a doctor and did her Master's in public health from the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine and during her master's course, she had participated in a number of training & other capacity development programs for her personal & professional development. she also participated in a number of national and international conferences to highlight her work through abstract presentations.
