Mitesh completed his doctoral studies in human movement science at Lund University, Sweden, in 2009, focusing on vestibular physiology, human motor control, eye movements and sensorimotor adaptation. He then went on to undertake post-doctoral studies in neuro-otology at Lund University, Landspitali University Hospital, Iceland (as visiting researcher), and Imperial College London before joining the University of East London in August 2015.

His recent research involves using neuro-stimulation (a battery to play with parts of the cerebral cortex) to facilitate recovery from central or peripheral disorders, leading a clinical trial in the treatment of Ménière’s disease and understanding peripheral and central elements of locomotion.

He was awarded the Hallpike Prize from the British Audiovestibular Association of Physicians and Best Study Prize from the British Society of Neuro-Otology in 2013. He has given many international or national talks.

Mitesh has a strong history of supervising BSc, MSc, MBBS and PhD student studies. Any BSc students wanting to add research experience in to the neural control of movement please drop me an email. Equally, any potential PhD students should get in touch.
