Mitchell C. Posner MD, FACS

Mitchell C. Posner, MD, FACS, has been appointed to serve as physician-in-chief of the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In this newly created position, Dr. Posner will work with clinical department chairs and faculty as well as UChicago Medicine senior leadership to implement strategies designed to further enhance clinical programs and research efforts in the Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to this new appointment, Dr. Posner will continue his work as chief of General Surgery and Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Posner completed his medical education at State University of New York in Buffalo. He then underwent his surgical residency at the University of Colorado as well as a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
