Mirjam Christ-crain PhD

Professor Mirjam Christ-Crain, MD, PhD, was born 1974 in Basel. She is professor of endocrinology at the University Hospital Basel. She studied medicine in Basel and Vienna and obtained the final diploma 1999 and the degree of doctor of medicine in 2000. She then specialized in endocrinology and obtained the FMH title in 2006. 2005 she went to London at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, University of London, where she did her PhD.

She habilitated 2007 in Basel as one of the youngest ever candidates to be awarded a Habilitation at the Faculty of Medicine. 2009 she received a professorship of the Swiss National Foundation and became consultant and “Leitende Aerztin” at the University Hospital Basel. She has authored and co-authored over 100 original research articles and reviews in the field of endocrinology and diabetes.
