Mircea Dediu MD, PhD

Dediu graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest in 1981. Subsequently, he followed the training internship in medical specialty oncology at the Bucharest Oncological Institute. From the very beginning, in addition to his current clinical activity, he participated in various research topics, which later opened his perspectives for integration into the international scientific community.

He has participated in over 30 international multicenter clinical trials, some of them succeeding in imposing innovative therapies or strategies in the field of oncological pathology. These include the first introduction of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in the treatment of non-microcellular lung cancer, the validation of maintenance therapy in lung cancer, the first introduction of anti-EGFR monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of squamous lung cancer, and others.

Contribution to multicenter studies as well as personal experience has been recorded in over 70 articles published in international indexed journals PubMed printer which, The New England Journal of Medicine (Journal of Clinical Oncology), Journal of Clinical Oncology), Annals of Oncology (journal of the European Society of Medical Oncology) and others. With a number of 74 publications and 6,285 citations, the global informational impact is summarized by a Hirsh index of 16.
