Miller Tran

Miller is an algal biologist who has spent 10 years working on developing algae as a viable protein expression platform for the production of complex therapeutic proteins. He has helped to produce both chloroplast and nuclear transformation vectors, created new miRNA vectors for silencing nuclear encoded genes, developed algal purification protocols, and optimized algal media for recombinant protein accumulation. Miller also spent the past 8 years mastering molecular biology techniques. These include vector design & cloning, codon Optimization, seamless USER cloning, PCR, qPCR, rt-PCR , southern and northern blot analysis.Miller is a demonstrated leader that has worked as a lab manager, trained undergraduate interns, graduate students, and post doctoral researchers.
