Miles Parkes MA, MBBS, FRCP, DM

Dr Miles Parkes has been a consultant gastroenterologist for 10 years at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He has a particular clinical interest in the management of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and in endoscopy and colonoscopy. Dr Parkes is Director of Gastroenterology. He qualified from Oxford University and Imperial College, London, and worked in London for three years before returning to Oxford for specialist training.

He was appointed to his consultant post at Addenbrooke’s in 2001, and is clinical lead for inflammatory bowel disease. Research interests include new therapies in GI disease and the genetic basis of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. He chairs the international IBD genetics research consortium, has published extensively in the medical literature and teaches and lectures internationally.
