Mike Potter MA, MBBS, PhD, FRCP, FRCPath

Dr Potter has both a private and an NHS practice at The Royal Marsden. He is a Consultant Haematologist with specialist interests in haematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation. He qualified from Cambridge University and the Middlesex Hospital, London and undertook his haematology training in Bristol, Leeds and London. Since his appointment to The Royal Marsden in 2004 he has been Programme Director for the stem cell transplant programme in both adults and paediatrics. This is the largest programme in the UK with over 200 transplants being performed annually.

Since 2011 he has been the clinical head of the Haemato-oncology Unit. This is one of the largest departments in the UK for the treatment of patients with haematological malignancy, particularly acute leukaemias, multiple myeloma and lymphoproliferative diseases. Dr Potter completed a PhD at the University of Bristol on the detection of minimal disease in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. His research interests centre on acute leukaemias and stem cell transplantation, focusing particularly on developments which improve the safety of this intensive form of treatment.
