Dr Mike Clancy, an emergency medicine consultant at Southampton General Hospital, will begin a three-year term as president of the College of Emergency Medicine (CEM) in September, taking over from Southampton colleague Dr John Heyworth.
The CEM, which was formed in 2006 and has more than 3,000 fellows and members, is the authoritative body for emergency medicine in the UK and exists to advance patient care, education and research in emergency medicine.
