Miia Holmstrom MD, PhD

Dr. Miia Holmstrom graduated with a medical degree in 1996, a specialist in radiology in 2004, a doctorate in medicine in 2006, and a doctorate in radiology in 2016.

She has worked for HUS-Imaging as a specialist doctor since 1999, as a radiology specialist since 2005 and as a multi-department doctor since 2016.

She has been working as a radiologist in the magnetic and computed tomography unit of Töölö in Mehiläin since 2011.

She has completed additional training in pediatric radiology (year 2008) and worked for more than 10 years in the X-ray department of a hospital for children and adolescents. Another area of ​​her expertise is cardiac imaging. She has almost 20 years of experience in magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography imaging of the heart and coronary arteries of children and adults. Related to this, she has a special level 3 qualification in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging from the European Society of Cardiology.

In Mehilää, she performs CT imaging of the coronary arteries and the heart, as well as magnetic resonance imaging of the heart and large vessels.
