Miguel Angel Molina-Vila holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has over 20 year experience in translational cancer research in hospitals such as MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX) or Vall d’Hebron Hospital (Barcelona, Spain). He has more than 70 peer reviewed publications in cancer and medical journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Oncology, Annals of Oncology, Nature Communications, Cancer Research or Clinical Cancer Research. A member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Lung Cancer Group (SLCG), he is currently the Director of the Laboratory of Oncology at the Quiron Dexeus University Hospital, in Barcelona, Spain. Besides translational research, the laboratory performs genetic testing by NGS of tissue and blood samples from cancer patients and acts as central laboratory in a number of clinical trials. The current research activities of Dr Molina include the development of tools to discriminate driver from passenger somatic mutations in human tumors.
