Miguel A. Paniagua, MD, FACP was elected to a two-year term as an at-large member of the National Board of Medical Examiners Board of Directors. The election occurred at the Annual Meeting of the NBME membership on April 5, 2013. Dr. Paniagua is Associate Professor and Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program, in the Department of Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine and the University of Washington for post-graduate training.

Dr. Paniagua is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialization in geriatric medicine and hospice & palliative medicine. Dr. Paniagua is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding teaching, including the Saint Louis University Golden Apple Award and Distinguished Teacher Award for Humanism. He is also the 2011 recipient of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Outstanding Latino Alumni award.
