Mieke Cannie MD, PhD

Mieke Cannie studied both general medicine and radiology at the KU Leuven. During the last 2 years of her radiology study, she started her PhD thesis on prenatal imaging based on fetal magnetic resonance or fetal MRI. In May 2008, after a short stay in London, she returned to Belgium to take up the post of deputy clinic head at the radiology department at the Brugmann hospital in Brussels. She has recently been promoted to head of the radiology clinic. Since October 2012, Mieke Cannie has been appointed as Professor at the Vrije University Brussel. Professor Cannie is one of the few radiologists in Europe specializing in fetal MRI. Her scientific contributions have contributed to progress in the field of fetal MRI.
