Michelle N. Johnson MD, MPH

Dr. Johnson is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear cardiology. She has a busy faculty practice along with her responsibilities as a nuclear cardiologist. In addition to her clinical activities, she is actively involved in house-staff training and community service. She has served on the board of various organizations such as Queens Medical Society, and the Minority Health Institute. Presently, she is the co-chair of the American Heart Association, Long Island chapter. She lectures frequently and is engaged in outreach programs on issues relating to cardiovascular disease in women and minorities. Her activities have prompted her to be listed in the Castle Connolly’s New York’s Top Doctors, and she has served as a medical expert for Black Entertainment Television and PBS.

Dr. Johnson is currently Clinical Director of Cardiology and Fellowship Director of Cardio-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and is also an attending physician at the Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases, both in New York, NY. She received her BS in molecular biology from Haverford College in Haverford, PA; her MD from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, NY; and her MPH from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA. Dr. Johnson completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. Her clinical background spans cardio-oncology as well as cardiovascular disease in ethnic minorities and women

Dr. Johnson was a recipient of the Harvard University Commonwealth Fund Fellowship, has been named one of Castle Connolly’s top doctors for the New York metro region, and has received the Caribbean Luminary Award from the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies. A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Johnson has served as an investigator and a collaborator on several research grants and has been involved in writing several peer-reviewed journal articles and reviews. In addition, she still maintains a busy clinical practice at MSKCC
