Michelle Barnett has a long and distinguished career as a physician assistant. She joined Associates in Gastroenterology in 2001 after working in internal medicine and clinical neurology. Her achievements include being a recipient of Distinguished Fellow of AAPA(DFAAPA) and CAPA PA of the Year. She is an AASLD fellow member, has been appointed to the AASLD Ethics Committee, and Colorado American Liver Foundation Board of Directors, is past president Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants( CAPA), and for 15 years has served on the CAPA board of directors. She is a five-time AAPA House of Delegates representative for Colorado. She serves as a faculty advisor and speaker at local and national PA/NP conferences, including AAPA, AANP, GHAPP, and SGNA. She is a member of national NP/PA GI/hepatology steering committees, advisory boards, and APP peer mentor and coach. She is a national speaker for hepatitis C and liver disease and has treated over 3000 chronic hepatitis C patients.
