Michele A. Hamilton, MD is Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at the Smidt Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute and Professor of Medicine/Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA. After graduating summa cum laude from Princeton University and receiving her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, she returned to her home state of California where she did her internal medicine and cardiology training at UCLA. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Hamilton was Vice-Chief of Staff at UCLA Medical Center and for over ten years was co-director of the UCLA Heart Failure Program. She is board certified in multiple fields, including internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, and echocardiography. She focuses on personalized care for the prevention and general cardiology issues as well as advanced heart failure and transplant management. Dr. Hamilton’s research focus is on heart failure, cardiac transplantation, echocardiography, and exercise physiology, and she has authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles. In acknowledgment of her clinical, research, and leadership accomplishments, she has been inducted as a Fellow in both the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Failure Society of America. She is passionate about the care of her patients, as well as her goal of improving patient care via research and mentoring of future physicians.
