Prof. Michel De Pauw obtained his doctor's degree in medicine, surgery, and obstetrics from the University of Ghent in 1987 and subsequently specialized in internal medicine and cardiology.
He further trained in cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology, with a specific interest in hemodynamics. In 2007 he obtained a Manama in pulmonary vascular disease from the University of Bologna.
Prof. Dr. De Pauw has worked at UZ Gent since 1994. Today he is head of the Cardiology department there.
