Dr. Adamina is the Chief of Colorectal Surgery in Winterthur, one of the largest specialized unit in Switzerland. He is Professor of Surgery at the University of Basel & Group Leader at its Dept. of Biomedical Engineering. He is the organizer of the European Colorectal Congress of St.Gallen and Chair of the Surgeons of the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). President of the Swiss Peritoneal Cancer Group. Swiss National Representative & Programme committee member of the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP). Member of the Education & Training Committee of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).
He has a clinical focus on inflammatory bowel diseases & cancer - including cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) & PIPAC. Expert in laparoscopic surgery & enhanced recovery pathways (ERAS). He is board-certified FMH in General & Abdominal Surgery, Fellow of and Examiner for the European Board of Surgical Qualifications in Coloproctology, Fellowship trained at the University of Toronto, ON & Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. Fellow of the ASCRS.
He has expertise in health economy, hospital management, clinical epidemiology, and decision-analysis – Master in Clinical Epidemiology (Toronto), Executive MBA HSG (St.Gallen).
