Michael Yin, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. He received his Medical Degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His research is focused on the optimization of HIV treatment and care. In current R01’s, he is evaluating the impact effect of inflammation and ART on bone mass and structure in perinatally HIV-infected children in South Africa and the effect of oral immune activation on periodontal health and alveolar bone loss in HIV-infected women. Dr. Yin is also an active investigator in the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) and a co-investigator on the NIH-funded program grant, Columbia Partnership for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (CTU).
