Michael Wilkinson MD

Dr. Michael Wilkinson, MD, is a physician with Spine & Pain Associates. He is board-certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine. Born and raised in East Tennessee, Dr. Wilkinson attended Wake Forest University on a baseball scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Chemistry. He then matriculated to the Yale School of Medicine on an Army scholarship where he served as class president.

His military service took him to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he completed his residency in anesthesiology, graduating as Chief Resident. Following graduation, he was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, serving as Chief of Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia at Womack Army Medical Center. During his time at Ft. Bragg, Major Wilkinson deployed with the 31st Forward Surgical Team to Afghanistan and received the Combat Action Badge for delivering lifesaving care under enemy fire. Upon the fulfillment of his military commitment, Dr. Wilkinson completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at Johns Hopkins.

He is passionate about giving back to both his community and the global mission field through multiple charitable organizations like Young Life and Kids to Christ. He and his family attend Redeemer Community Church in Johnson City. Dr. Wilkinson sees his medical practice as the culmination of his long journey home. He feels blessed to have the opportunity to provide the highest quality of care to the people of East Tennessee. Michael Wilkinson, MD, serves patients in the Tri-Cities/Northeast Tennessee region.
