Michael Bartoszek is the distinguished recipient of a Bronze Star Medal for his development of an Afghan National Army Role 2 Trauma Center in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Currently, he serves as the Department Chair of the Interdisciplinary Pain Medicine Center at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC.

Dr. Bartoszek completed his anesthesia training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he also completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine. He has served his country as a Staff Anesthesiologist in Heldmand Province, Afghanistan, earning and the Uniform Services University for Health Sciences in Ft. Bragg, NC.

He is a published author on topic ranging from transient ischemic attacks to weapons of mass destruction and disaster preparedness. He has performed research on radiofrequency nerve ablation, acetaminophen, spinal cord stimulators, and medical student advisory groups. Over the span of 13 years, he has given dozens of presentations on topics such as low back pain, regional anesthesia, sepsis, disaster anesthesia, epidural anesthesia in trauma, and opioid risk management.
