Michael Slade MD, MSCI

Michael J. Slade, MD, MSCI, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. He receievd his Medical Degree from the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology. Dr. Slade's current research is focused on cellular immunotherapy and plasma cell dyscrasias, including multiple myeloma and its precursor states.

Slade's laboratory-based research is focused on understanding mechanisms of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell failure in patients with multiple myeloma, including tumor evolution, modulation of the immune microenvironment, and CAR T cell exhaustion. His clinical research is focused on the role of autologous stem cell transplant in multiple myeloma and on advanced methods of disease monitoring following myeloma treatment, including ultra-sensitive next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, and mass spectrometry.
