Michael Sheehan

Dr. Michael Sheehan has over 25 years of experience providing strategic and operational leadership for the Information Technology division of an integrated healthcare delivery system in the Pacific Northwest. He is an experienced educator with a passion for the people side of change and IT driven transformation. Michael is currently the Vice President IT; Network Chief Information Officer for PeaceHealth- Oregon West Network. He is responsible for the implementation and support of strategic and tactical IT initiatives within network, champion business/clinical optimization and innovation by ensuring that system solutions are in place to support critical needs of the Network. Michael’s responsibilities also include collaborating with Network and IST senior leadership to support system and community strategies.

Michael started at PeaceHealth as the Director–HID/IT Operations, Applications, Information Technology for Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. In this role, Michael was a member of the senior management team responsible for of the IT and Clinical Quality division for two decades. He held a number of leadership roles overseeing an annual budget of over $50 million and a workforce of more than 350 caregivers He also served as the Interim Chief Information Officer and a member of PeaceHealth Executive Team for 18 months. Prior to PeaceHealth, Michael was the Director- Information Systems for Oregon Medical Laboratories during which he established the IS department for the new joint venture organization and directed the first six years of operation. Michael served on the initial senior management team supporting organizational growth into a successful regional reference laboratory, and led the implementation of the Antrim Laboratory Information System, which is still in use at PeaceHealth Laboratories.
