Michael Serzan MD

Dr. Michael Serzan is a Genitourinary Medical Oncologist at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Serzan received his Internal Medicine training at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. During his fellowship, he pursued additional training in clinical research through the AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Workshop and FDA-AACR Oncology Educational Fellowship. His research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Immunotherapy of Cancer, the Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment, and the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.

Dr. Serzan’s interests lie in the development of novel agents and rational combinations for the treatment of kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicular cancers. He has an active role in translational research, drug development, and clinical trials of novel immunotherapies and drug combinations.

In his practice, Dr. Serzan strives to provide his patients with the highest standard of personalized care with a collaborative multidisciplinary team of providers. His philosophy embraces the spirit of cura personalis (“care for the entire person”) to provide innovative cancer care in addition to addressing symptom management and psychosocial aspects of care.
