Dr. Michael A. Scarpone, DO, is an osteopathic physician specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. He serves as the Director of the Trinity Sports Medicine & Performance Center and provides care focused on orthopedic injuries, fracture management, concussion evaluation and management, arthritis, and sports-related conditions. His expertise also includes regenerative medicine, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, image-guided injections, nerve blocks, and non-invasive tenotomy procedures.

Dr. Scarpone earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. He completed his residency at The Medical Center in Beaver, Pennsylvania, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Marshall University School of Medicine. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Scarpone is involved in medical education and professional sports medicine. He serves as an associate professor in a sports medicine training program and is a team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Franciscan University of Steubenville, and several area high schools. Through his leadership at Trinity Health System, he contributes to comprehensive sports medicine and performance care for athletes and patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
